Best Album Artwork 2010
For their debut mixtape Shut Up, Dude, Das Racist commissioned New York-based street artist Aakash Nihalani. His use of cardboard and neon tape in, on, and around NYC has garnered the Queens-born creator coverage from the New York Times and The Village Voice. Nihalani’s skillful geometrics and playful aesthetic suit Das Racist poifectly.
Several other artists procured impressive artwork for their releases this year. For some, the artwork completely overshadowed the music, while for others it was the perfect complement.
Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Miss Swagger Herself and I liked the artwork for “The Joy,” celebrating the lovely Pam Grier:

KiD CuDi – Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager

Strong Arm Steady – In Search of Stoney Jackson

Homeboy Sandman – The Good Sun (inspired by Mr. Magic)

Skyzoo & !llmind – Live From The Tape Deck
