Benz and a Backpack

Musician is perhaps the only fitting description for the boy Blu. The Los-Angeles-based emcee/producer, who’s name is believed to stand for “Best Lyricist Underground,” is certainly a talented word-smith. But his music, which always features top-notch production, goes beyond simple verses and hooks. And If You See The E Drop Em is a compilation of Blu’s tracks from the past year, put together by Cyriel Klitsie. The tape’s name comes from Blu’s first verse on “My World Is…” off Below The Heavens. Shouts to h.e.r. for the heads up.
