Jay-Z Feat. B.I.C. – Glory (New Audio: Listen/Download)
Not knowing the news that Jay-Z and Beyonce officially had their baby delivered on January 7th, can only be excused if you suddenly succumb to one of those rare three day comas. This was the news EVERYONE was waiting for! And it happened. Blue Ivy Carter (girl), is now a part of the world. And in true capitalizing, entrepreneurial form, Jay-Z got his new baby in the studio to start working on her debut album: “I’ll Never Be Poor”. Well…not actually. An audio recording of Blue, crying moments after her birth, was used at the end of Jay-Z’s most recent celebratory, “I’m a daddy now!”, track produced by Pharrell featuring, Blue Ivy Carter (B.I.C.). Glory – Jay-Z feat. Blue Ivy Carter by Warhol2011
This song is really good. This track is dripping with that “The Blueprint” kind of slow, reflective soul vibe. Pharrell comes through with some soulful, raspy whisper accompanying vocals. Pharrell also delivers an outstanding beat full of pride, triumphant organs, big snares and lazy hallow drums. This song almost makes me with I had a baby.
Coming off such an extravagant album and tour like “Watch the Throne” it’s refreshing to hear Jay-z return to earth and confidently open up emotionally over this beat and deliver some of his more candid and clever lines I’ve heard in a while: “You’re a child of destiny. You’re the child of my destiny. You’re my child with the child from Destiny’s Child. That’s a hell of a recipe.” Indeed it is Jigga. Indeed it is.
